Our Services

Therapy for Children and Families

Therapy for children is often beneficial, as early emotional support is vital for healthy development. Children may struggle to express their feelings or manage stress, and therapy provides them with a safe space to process challenges. This foundation helps build emotional resilience that lasts a lifetime.

For families, we create a supportive environment to enhance communication, strengthen connections, and navigate life’s transitions. When parents and children work together with a therapist, they often experience lasting improvements in their relationships and overall family dynamics.

Therapy for Adolescents

Adolescence is a critical period of emotional, psychological, and social development. During these years, teenagers face complex challenges, including identity formation, peer pressure, academic stress, and increasing independence from their families.

Grounded Minds offers teenagers a safe, non-judgmental space to navigate these transitions and build healthy coping strategies. Our goal is to equip them with the emotional intelligence and self-awareness needed to thrive in the years ahead.

Therapy for Adults

Adulthood often brings its own set of challenges—whether it’s managing stress, navigating relationships, coping with past trauma, dealing with career pressures, or adjusting to major life transitions.

Grounded Minds provides adults with a supportive space to explore and address these complexities. Our interest is not just in solving immediate problems; it’s in helping to foster emotional growth, self-awareness, and long-term well-being (mind and body).

Neuropsychological Evaluation and Assessment

We provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children, teenagers, and adults. A neuropsychological evaluation can pinpoint specific learning challenges a child may face, such as difficulties with reading, writing, mathematics, and attention. It’s also valuable for clarifying complex or unclear diagnoses, particularly when multiple issues are present. Gaining a clear understanding of these nuances is crucial for creating personalized educational strategies and therapeutic interventions that support the child’s development and achievement.

Supervision for Early Career Therapists

We are happy to provide supervision for early-career therapists, offering case consultation and support to help professionals build confidence and to refine their skills.

All therapy services are available in-person and online, depending on provider availability.

  • Anxiety is a natural reaction to stress, causing feelings of worry or unease. While it’s a natural emotion, chronic anxiety can disrupt daily life. There are several anxiety disorders. Each involves excessive worry or fear, but they vary in triggers and symptoms.

  • Depression is a mental health condition characterized by persistent sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest in daily activities. It affects mood, energy levels, and can impact physical health. While it’s common to feel down occasionally, depression lasts longer and can interfere with daily life.

  • Executive functioning refers to a set of cognitive skills that help us plan, make decisions, solve problems, and manage time and tasks. These skills are crucial for setting goals, staying organized, and controlling impulses. People with executive functioning challenges may struggle with focus, memory, or following through on tasks, affecting work, school, and daily life. Executive functioning challenges are often a characteristic of ADHD, a neurodevelopmental disorder.

  • Learning disabilities are neurological conditions that affect how people process and understand information. They can impact reading, writing, math, or reasoning skills. With the right support and accommodations, individuals with learning disabilities can succeed in school and life.

  • Life transitions, like moving, new jobs, or relationship changes, can be stressful and disorienting. They often bring a mix of emotions and uncertainty. Adjusting to these changes can be easier with the right support and guidance.

  • Relationship challenges often arise from communication issues, differing values, or unmet needs. These struggles can lead to feelings of frustration, distance, or emotional disconnect. Unresolved conflicts often create tension and strain, making it harder to maintain a strong, healthy bond.

  • Trauma is the emotional response to deeply distressing or disturbing events. It can affect mental, physical, and emotional well-being, leading to symptoms like anxiety, fear, and helplessness. Over time, unresolved trauma can cause lasting impacts, such as difficulty trusting others, emotional numbness, or challenges with relationships and self-worth. It may also trigger physical responses, like tension, insomnia, or chronic pain.
